What is the Gospel?
You don’t have to fix yourself before coming to God. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Jesus came for people who need saving.
Here’s the Gospel ↓God made a way for you to know Him.
The message of the gospel is simple: we have been separated from God by sin, but God has made a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ.
Salvation isn’t about becoming religious. It is about being forgiven, made new, and entering into a relationship with God.
We have all sinned.
Every one of us has sinned. We have all fallen short of God’s perfect standard. Sin separates us from God, and the consequence of sin is death.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
But that isn’t where the story ends.
Jesus died for you.
God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for your sin.
Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose from the dead.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
You don’t earn salvation by being good enough, religious enough, or by trying harder.
Jesus has already done the work.
Turn to Jesus and believe.
God calls us to repent—to turn from our sin and turn toward Him—and to place our faith in Jesus Christ.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
Salvation is not something you earn. It is God’s gift, received through faith.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Call on Him.
If you understand that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and you are ready to turn to Him, you can call on Him right now.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
There are no magic words that save you.
Jesus saves you.
Prayer is simply a way of expressing to God the repentance and faith that are in your heart.
Just Pray A Simple Prayer
If this expresses what you truly believe in your heart, you can pray something like this:
Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need You.
I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You rose from the dead.
I turn from my sin and put my faith in You. Forgive me, save me, and make me Yours.
I give You my life. Help me to follow You from this day forward.
Thank You for loving me and for saving me. Amen.
The prayer itself doesn’t save you.
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ. This prayer is simply an expression of your faith in Him.
This is the beginning.
Following Jesus is not simply a moment. It is the beginning of a new life with Him.
Read the Bible
Begin learning who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. The Gospel of John is a great place to start.
Pray
Talk to God honestly. Thank Him, ask Him for help, and begin building a relationship with God.
Find a Church
Find a Bible-believing church where you can worship, learn, grow, and follow Jesus alongside other believers.
Be Baptized
Baptism does not save you. It is a public expression of your faith and your identification with Jesus Christ.
Just start with Jesus.
Learn who He is. Learn what He said. And begin following Him one step at a time.
